[일간스포츠=박세연 기자] BLACKPINK, returning as a full group for the first time in three years, has officially kicked off preparations for a second-half comeback under the close direction of YANG HYUN SUK, the Executive Producer of YG Entertainment (hereafter YG).

According to music industry sources on the 27th, BLACKPINK completed the shooting for their new album jacket last week at a location in Seoul. With YANG HYUN SUK putting special effort into this album, the jacket shoot was reportedly on a global scale. BLACKPINK’s comeback marks about three years since their second full-length album “BORN PINK,” which was released on September 16, 2022.

On May 26, YANG HYUN SUK revealed on the YG blog, “I think we’ll be able to share the news of BLACKPINK’s new song soon.” With the jacket shoot now complete, it’s expected that BLACKPINK will meet global fans not just with a single but with a full album. All members , JENNIE, ROSÉ, JISOO, and LISA, have successfully pursued solo activities and are now shifting into full BLACKPINK “group mode,” accelerating the album production process.

YG has been cautious, stating, “Nothing has been concretely decided yet,” but the new BLACKPINK album is expected to be released around the time of their world tour.

YANG HYUN SUK has been signaling since last year that BLACKPINK’s comeback and world tour would happen in 2025. Anticipating the days they would work together again in their “home base,” YG formed a dedicated “TF team” early on to ensure thorough preparations. Thanks to this, the comeback work is reportedly proceeding smoothly. The members, based on their strong trust in YANG HYUN SUK and YG, are said to be steadily focusing on the BLACKPINK project. Having exceeded expectations with their solo achievements, they are now joyfully pouring their efforts into the team’s activities.

Alongside the new album, BLACKPINK is also preparing for a tour where all four members will take the stage together. Whether they will perform tracks from the new album at the upcoming world tour kickoff on July 5–6 at Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium is drawing keen interest from global fans.

Starting with the Goyang concerts in July, BLACKPINK plans to meet fans worldwide through a world tour spanning 10 cities and 18 shows, including stops at stadium-level venues in Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, London, and Tokyo. With explosive global interest in BLACKPINK’s full-group performances, additional shows are expected to be confirmed soon.

Given that BLACKPINK’s previous “BORN PINK” tour recorded the highest revenue in girl group history worldwide, this new tour, coming about 1 year and 10 months later, is drawing massive attention. Reports indicate that YANG HYUN SUK and the internal YG team are putting in extraordinary efforts to deliver a top-tier production. The upcoming tour is expected to feature not only BLACKPINK’s classic hits but also many tracks from the members’ solo albums.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK became independent from YG at the end of 2023. ROSÉ signed with THEBLACKLABEL, while JENNIE, LISA, and JISOO each established their own one-person agencies. Since last fall, they have actively rolled out solo projects with notable success. ROSÉ set a new record for the longest-charting K-pop female artist on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, maintaining a 30-week run with her duet “Apt.” with Bruno Mars.

Last month, JENNIE and LISA captivated global music fans with powerful performances at the “Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025” in Indio, California, while JISOO has been showcasing her unique colors across both music and acting. Recently, JENNIE, ROSÉ, and LISA further cemented their global presence by attending the 2025 Met Gala, the world’s largest fashion charity fundraising event.
